HIMOINSA introduces the HGY generator series to the market. These are new generators, power generator sets with output up to 3500kVA with a Yanmar engine, adapted and meeting all requirements, for powering critical infrastructure.
What is critical infrastructure?
Critical infrastructure consists of physical and cyber systems (facilities, devices, data centers, installations, etc.) necessary for the minimum functioning of the economy and the state. Critical infrastructure includes a number of construction facilities, devices, installations, and services that are key to the security of the state and its citizens, and that serve to ensure the efficient functioning of administration and businesses. Powering critical infrastructure is a huge challenge, and the machines used for this purpose should meet a number of very restrictive requirements and demonstrate the highest reliability, quality, and top technical parameters. HIMOINSA generator sets, HGY series, were created precisely to power critical infrastructure.
That’s right!! We have just become one of the few generator set manufacturers in the world that can offer generator sets of this power level in a monoblock configuration, computer-controlled, supplied from a common Common Rail manifold, meeting the requirements of class G3 ISO8528-5
What’s more, our generator sets, the HGY series, are powered by YANMAR, which is the owner of the HIMOINSA brand.
The HGY series is powered by Yanmar engines with output from 1250 kVA to 3500 kVA (future plans up to 4000 kVA).
This includes the GY175L engine family, covering many models with 12 and 16 cylinders, and future engine designs with 20 cylinders, all electronically controlled.
Specifically for our engines, we redesigned the Common Rail fuel system from scratch to optimize combustion and increase power and efficiency to the maximum.

Yanmar has over 100 years of experience in developing reliable, fuel-efficient engine technologies for the Power Generation, Marine and Construction Equipment industries. The GY engine family is proven technology based on Yanmar’s renowned marine engines, known worldwide for their reliability.

GY is a new family of constant-speed engines with a Common Rail injection system. It combines unique combustion technology for high-speed engines with the reliability of medium-speed engines, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
This technology enables operation in extreme conditions, a compact footprint, the ability to use multiple fuels, and low greenhouse gas emissions.
- Common Rail fuel injection systems and high-pressure pump: generate injection pressure up to 2200 bar, ensuring maximum efficiency, optimizing the combustion pressure curve through multiple precise fuel dosing
- High power density: The HGY series provides exceptional performance in terms of emissions and power density (up to 37.9 kWm/l). High specific power density reduces the carbon footprint and has a huge impact on the total carbon footprint across the entire operating cycle
- Single-cylinder head prototype: Piston head design and fluid flow analysis are crucial for engine performance and output. Yanmar spent thousands of engineering hours at this stage of development
- Fast response: Fuel injection makes a huge difference in power generation applications where response speed is critical. The ECU computer can respond to sudden speed changes within milliseconds. The engine starts in less than 8 seconds. This engine can operate under G3 ISO8528-5 class conditions
- Intuitive engine control unit (ECU): The ECU includes multiple physical parameters to ensure optimal control of the injection system. The control system includes integrated, intuitive and functional diagnostic software that enables remote monitoring of engine and generator operation.

Fuel consumption | Best in class on the market
Efficiency is the main objective of HIMOINSA and Yanmar, and HGY generators have been designed to ensure optimal fuel consumption. This has been achieved thanks to the new high-pressure Common Rail fuel injection system, piston design and high power density. The focus on efficiency translates into cost savings, reduced emissions and high autonomy, making the HGY series one of the most efficient and competitive products on the market.
Usability | Extended service intervals
Most parts are compatible with different engine versions and models. The goal was to ensure our customers keep smaller spare parts inventories, so they can share common components, including fuel, oil, air filters, injectors, etc. This sophisticated, modular design means more efficient engine service, reduced spare parts inventory, and much more streamlined technician training.
The HGY series offers extended service intervals. The maximum interval between major overhauls is 10,000 hours, and for continuous operation the interval between major overhauls is up to 30,000 hours.
HIMOINSA offers a generator management platform enabling remote monitoring, control and maintenance of generator sets. This comprehensive solution platform provides real-time tracking of critical parameters, automatic alarms in the event of failures or anomalies, and tools for proactive maintenance planning — all aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. Additionally, it offers advanced reporting and data analytics capabilities, facilitating informed decision-making and ensuring optimal generator performance at any location. Our customers will benefit significantly from this platform by gaining access to all data via an API interface.
